Come on out and paddle the calm, safe waters of the Esopus Creek all along the Esopus Bend Nature Preserve where you'll enjoy scenic beauty, nature and abundant wildlife! You'll launch from the Saugerties Beach and paddle down about 2 miles out and then back. No real current to speak of in either direction. There are sand bars in a few places where you can get out and swim or hang out. We'll send you out with squirt tubes to keep each other cool and ...... well....they just add silly fun to everything! (Parents swear by them for their little paddlers!) Birthday paddlers simply must have a tiara, so be sure to tell me!
This is perfect for beginners, families and those that just want to relax, soak up some sun and have some fun on the water! Generally, it's an easy 2 hours to go all the way down and back. There is no Hudson River access from here so no tides, barge traffic, etc. Super safe.
If it's your first time, no worries. I love beginners! I'm an ACA certified instructor and happy to give you a quick lesson to get you on your way. Please call me before reserving if you have little ones so that I can be sure of the right equipment to ensure their safety and my peace of mind. I reserve the right to not allow someone to go if there is a safety concern. Also please call or text if you have any questions or any concerns at all. Let's have some fun!

Your speed is a bit slower than kayaking and it's a bit more effort. Sometimes an hour for the first time out is enough. Want a work out or to chill and lay out on the boards which is also great, maybe 2 hours. It's just FUN!
